Rána was a young Human Dúnedain who lived in Arnor. She is the daughter of Meneldir, and a member of Grey Company. During the time when the War of the Ring began, Rána served as an apprentice to Saruman, and guarded the tower of Orthanc. However, when she learned of Saruman's betrayal, Rána abandonded her service, and would later reunite with her father. After joining Grey Company, Rána fought in the Battle of Pelennor Fields and was slain.
Born in TA 2982, Rána was the daughter of Meneldir and an unnamed father. She also had an unnamed brother, whom she grew up with in the rebuilt city of Annúminas. Like her father, Rána learned to become a Ranger of the North while her brother remained in Annúminas.
