Oromir was one of the Dúnedain of Arnor who was descended from Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Known for his great kindness, Oromir adopted an orphaned Orc, naming him Yazneg, after an Orc Raider in the service of Azog the Defiler many years before. This show of kindness, while commended, was frowned upon by Oromir's village, so much that the village elder banished Oromir and Yazneg from the village. Wandering for three years, Oromir traveled to the region of Rhovanion where he was slain by Azog.
