May Gamgee II was the daughter of Hamfast and Bell Gamgee, as well as the sister of Marigold (2982 3A), Sam (2980 3A), Daisy (2972 3A), Halfred (2969 3A), and Hamson (2965 3A).
Biography[]
On October 5, 2990 3A, May and her family fought in the Battle of Bywater, slaying a couple of Ruffians that took power and wealth over the Shire. On September 12, 3001 3A, Daisy and her family attended Bilbo's farewell party. After her younger brother Sam left the Shire with Frodo, May was among those that grew worried of Sam's departure. However, this was when she received word from Will Whitfoot that Sam, Frodo, Pippin, and Merry were in Rivendell and were preparing to set on a journey to destroy the One Ring. She was very happy to hear the news until she and her siblings joined the Shire Company under the leadership of Will Whitfoot.
Traveling south to Gondor, May and her siblings fought in the Battle of Pelennor Fields and killed a number of orcs that were retreating from the battlefield. After the battle, May volunteered in gathering the wounded and taking them to Minas Tirith to be healed. She later fought in the Battle of Morannon, the last battle during the War of the Ring. Hoping to give her brother Sam, as well as Frodo, a chance to destroy the One Ring, May fought for her life in the battle and was killed. Sam mourned May's lost after he recovered from his injuries.
