War of the RingEdit
In TA 3003, he got caught up in the War of the Ring. As a ranger, he traveled south and participated in the Battle of Helm's Deep against an army of 20,000 Uruk-hai. Before the battle, he made friends with the elf Gilraen. Bregedur survived the battle and hastily traveled to Gondor to spread the news of Saruman’s treachery. He was unaware of the fall of Isengard until the end of the war.
Bregedur continued to fight against Sauron's forces during the war. He later fought in the second battle of Osgiliath. Bregedur defended the ruined city with his life, killing more than seventy-four orcs. He managed to survive the carnage when Faramir ordered the retreat. Bregedur fled to Minas Tirith where he lent his support to the Gondorians. He later participated in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields where he defended the city against forces of Mordor. Like many others, he was amazed when the ghost army swept through Minas Tirith, slaughtering nearly all of Mordor’s armies. Through this amazement, Bregedur marched alongside the combined armies of the Free Alliance and fought in the Battle of Morannon.
After the destruction of the One Ring, Bregedur returned to Minas Tirith to attend the coronation of Aragorn II, and travelled to Rivendell with Lord Elrond. He was soon reunited with Gilraen, and they traveled to the Undying Lands. He passed away in FO 129 after he returned to Middle-earth.
