Born in 2930 3A, Asphodel considered herself as been the mother of her siblings. Over the years, Asphodel would look after her siblings while her parents were working.
At the age of 18, Asphodel married Rufus Burrows and gave birth to Milo Burrows a year later. However, on September 5, 2990 3A, Asphodel was among those that were enslaved by the Ruffians under the command of Bill Ruffin. She participated in the Battle of Bywater with the aid of Gandalf and many hobbits that rebelled against the local criminals. Asphodel survived the battle, but her sister Primula was slain. She later attended the funeral for the slain victims that fought and died in honor.
On September 12, 3001 3A, Asphodel attended Bilbo's Farewell Birthday Party. She was about to give Bilbo a special present until he vanished. After Bilbo left the Shire, Asphodel gave the present to Frodo. Sometime after her son and daughter-in-law joined the Shire Company, she would always babysit her grandchildren if they struggled with things. In the end of the War of the Ring, Asphodel arranged a funeral for her son and daughter-in-law, who died in the final battle.
